چکیده

Abstract Fibre metal laminates (FMLs) are attractive construction materials, especially for use in aerospace and transport facilities. Throughout their service life, thin-walled structures made of FMLs exposed to static dynamic loads, as well corrosion the unfavourable influence environmental conditions. The paper presents an experimental analysis combined mechanical long-term behaviour carbon-based fibre variants with protective glass layers. Al alloy/CFRP alloy/GFRP/CFRP a 3/2 configuration were used. tested subjected 1500 thermal cycles temperature range 130 °C. fatigue interlaminar shear strengths before after conditioning. It was shown that stable stiffness reduction observed increasing cycles, due progressive damage accumulation. thermally cycled feature slightly smoother loss, while more rapid decrease untreated laminates. Moreover, life cycling revealed nine times fewer protectors comparison not cycling.

A Modified Three-rail Shear Test for Fatigue of Composite Laminates

In the standard three-rail shear test, as described in “ASTM D 4255/D 4255M The standard test method for in-plane shear properties of polymer matrix composite materials by the rail shear method” the specimen is clamped with bolts. This however, requires drilling holes through the specimen, which of course is not ideal for composite materials, because of the occurring damage around the holes. Fu...

General Theory of Coupled Thermally Stable Anisotropic Laminates

A general theory of thermally stable anisotropic laminates with bending-extension coupling is presented in the framework of linear thermo-elasticity. It is based upon the use of tensor invariants, found by the polar formalism for bi-dimensional anisotropic elasticity. The extension of the results to moisture absorption effects is also proved.

Compressive Behavior of a Glass/Epoxy Composite Laminates with Single Delamination

The buckling and postbuckling behaviors of a composite beam with single delamination are investigated. A three-dimensional finite element model using the commercial code ANSYS is employed for this purpose. The finite elements analyses have been performed using a linear buckling model based on the solution of the eigenvalues problem, and a non-linear one based on an incremental-iterative method....

Modeling of the Fatigue Life of Fiber Metal Laminates under Low Velocity Impact by Finite Element Method

In this study, first by using the finite element method, fatigue life of fiber metal laminates of Glare type subjected to impact was obtained and the numerical results of the model were compared with the experimental results. With regard to the very good matching between numerical and experimental results, then the results of the finite element model were generalized and expanded, and with usin...
